Lemon Sauce

Lemon Sauce
tastes great on my "White Cake"

1 large lemon, rind grated and juice of
1 1/4 cups boiling water
2 tablespoons cornstarch or arrowroot powder
1/2 cup organic or raw sugar plus 2 tablespoons (or to taste)
1 pinch salt
2 tablespoons coconut oil (optional)
1 drop natural butter flavor

Add in rind to boiling water; reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch, sugar and salt together.
Add water gradually, whisking constantly.
Return to saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes until thickened.
Lower heat and cook for 5-6 minutes longer.
Remove from heat, and stir in lemon juice, optional coconut oil and butter flavor.
Best served warm.

Simple and tasty an instant favorite!

  1. Denise, That's seems like it should have worked! The only thing I can think of trying is maybe adding the arrowroot mixed with the cold rice milk a little sooner and stir until it starts to boil it should thicken right up. I maybe would try a little more arrowroot powder too but I would not do much more than what their recipe calls for cause it will end up tasting more like the powder then pudding. Good Luck!
