Don't these cookies look good?

Well they don't taste good! ;) I have had some really good cookies from the health food store that are made with palm fruit oil. It has many health benefits like coconut oil and has the
potential to make a really good cookie. But my first two tries did NOT taste good at all. I have done a lot of healthifying recipes but I have not done much baking without a recipe at all. But it's kind of fun to experiment. But it's definitely back to the drawing board with these! (Are there any great bakers out there who can give me some tips;) I'll keep trying though and when I get a good one you will be the first to know about it! So have any of you used palm fruit oil much? Have you made cookies with them? Are there some hints and tricks? Please share if you know about it, this is a new ingredient for me I need all the help I can get!
Looks yummy. You shouldn't have told it wasn't....no one would have ever known! :) But I guess if you want some help figuring out how to fix 'em, you gotta spill the beans! Sorry, I can't help you...wish I could! I'm excited to find out what you learn though! :)
ReplyDeleteLove you girl!
Hey thanks Mindy I will definately have to try those. Of course I probably won't follow the recipe exactally ;) Ummmm yeah about the Nucoa I had never heard of it so I search around a bit I didn't find a list of the actual igredients but I read that it was basically margine without the lactose so I feel pretty safe in saying that nope it's not good and is probably more closely related to plastic then food ;)
ReplyDeleteSo far coconut oil has been my favorite butter substitute! I LOVE IT! I hope to do a post soon about the many benefits of it! Again thanks for the recipe I will post about it when I try them!
Hey thanks! I will try coconut oil! Nucoa is full of junk and probably is closer to plastic! I really enjoy reading and trying your recipes! They are healthy and non dairy! Dairy causes inflammation in my body and especially my back, so I avoid it at all costs! Thanks and let me know what you think!
ReplyDeletesorry about the cookies. but i have full confidence in you that you will find a resolution and turn it into a delicious cookie creation. you are so creative...Thanks for being so smart and so good. i love you, mom
ReplyDeleteI feel you. I wanted to have healthy cookies around in case I get a craving but mine have butter in them and they make me bloat! I hate that feeling! Let us know if that recipe your friend gave you works out!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the cookies... I'm trying different recipes for cookies too, I have to avoid regular flour(wheat), eggs, and dairy for food allergies. I found Earth Balance Spread to be a great alternative to butter. They contain no hydrogenated oils or GMO's(genetically modified organisms) It's tasty too! Good luck with the cookies!
ReplyDeleteajk: Earth Balance can be a great alternative especially if avoiding dairy to use as a spread. But I prefer using just the pure oil. Not a blend. We love coconut oil as a spread. I really don't care for all the soy ingredients in the Earth Balance and canola oil is not my favorite ingredient also. It does have palm fruit and olive oil which I think have many health benefits.
